Feb 12 – A Day at Sea and Late arrival in Singapore

We had a quiet, busy day at sea.  Mary worked on the photos and blog, trying to catch up.  She made progress but maybe by tomorrow everything will be current.  Paul spent the morning in the Galaxy Lounge watching the Super Bowl (49rs lost in overtime).

Afternoon was spent day working on other travel items. It rained off and on during the day.

We arrived in Singapore late afternoon to haze and overcast skies.  The straits in front of Singapore were filled with cargo ships.

However, not to be deterred we headed topside to take photos.  Lovely sailing in even with the grey skies.

Lots of container ships.

A Pilot Boat and a tug helping us into port.

The little harbor where we are docked.

We also watched as they docked and tied up the ship.  A rather complicated activity.

And there were some interesting goings on on the dock as it looked like the dock crew were trying to repair something.

A busy fork lift...

and the gangway ready for people to head off the ship and to the city.

People started heading ashore as soon as the gangway was cleared.  We opted to stay on board.  The dining room was nearly empty this evening.  There aren’t a lot of passengers on board anyway and it looked like most people headed into Singapore for the evening.  We did have dinner with Anne and there were maybe another dozen people in the dining room at the max.

A very quiet day.
